Detran RJ announced this Friday, the 23rd, that it will waive fines for vehicle owners who exceeded the 30-day deadline to transfer their cars, citing the server strike as the cause.
According to the department, this decision will benefit both those who had prior appointments and those who tried to schedule the service but could not due to the stoppage, which began on October 7th.
Carlos Eduardo Sarmento, who serves as president of Detran RJ, emphasized that this action demonstrates the institution's commitment to the community and its search for alternatives to mitigate the effects of the strike.
He stated: 'Our goal is to prevent citizens from being penalized for delays resulting from difficulties in accessing the service during the strike. We are taking the necessary measures to avoid harm to owners.'
