Rajanikanth's film 'Jailer 2' surpassed 600 crore, but the pace has slowed; the influence of Ayushmann

The film 'Jailer 2' by Indian superstar Rajnikanth has achieved record collections, earning over 600 crore in just eight days. This success confirms Rajnikanth's status as a star, and the movie is the fourth major release in his career. However, starting from the second week of its run, the collection pace began to slow down.

According to a report by Sakencode, in the second weekly period, 'Jailer 2' showed a significantly slower start compared to the first week. On Thursday, the eighth day of release, the film collected 17.15 crore in net collections, of which 2.40 crore was from Hindi screenings. The total net collection over eight days amounted to 334.35 crore.

Internationally, the film achieved impressive results. In foreign countries, it brought in 214.50 crore in gross revenue over eight days. Globally, 'Jailer 2' earned 606.50 crore, marking the fastest achievement in Rajnikanth's career club of films with a turnover of 600 crore.

'Jailer 2' received a limited Hindi release. Due to the insufficient number of screenings in Delhi-NCR, the film performed weakly in this language. Analysts suggest that if the film had had the same number of screenings in Hindi as it did in Tamil, its box office collections could have exceeded 700 crore, considering the initial momentum. Many expected Rajnikanth to be the first to bring Tamil cinema to the 1000 crore mark, but this currently seems unlikely.

Rajnikanth's film may face a slump this week due to the release of the comedy-spy genre movie 'Udta Teer', starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan. This new film has received positive critical reviews. Now it depends on the audience whether they will choose to watch Ayushmann's film or continue following Rajnikanth's style and mannerisms.

Review of 'Udta Tir': A blend of patriotism, drama, and comedy featuring Ayushmann and Sara

The Bollywood film industry often attempts to combine spy plots, patriotism, and comedy to entertain audiences and evoke excitement. However, this formula does not always work. The film 'Udta Tir,' starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, is one such attempt, merging a spy mission, identity confusion, and comedic elements. The question arises whether the film can harmoniously weave all these elements into an engaging spectacle or if the plot will become convoluted.

Despite the fact that Bollywood already has many films about patriotism and espionage, 'Udta Tir' stands out by adding a comedic touch to this mix, causing the story to gradually transform into a source of amusement. The picture's strength lies in its unique approach, where mistaken identity, espionage, and funny situations collectively entertain the audience.

In the film, Ayushmann Khurrana plays Vikrant, who believes he is an employee of the Indian intelligence agency CTS. However, the main twist is that he is actually Bilal, a Pakistani agent whose memory was lost after an accident. Subsequently, he begins to hunt his own people. This play with identities generates both comedy and suspense.

The film requires about half an hour to unfold the plot and characters, so patience may be needed at the beginning. But as the story progresses, amusing events and a series of unexpected twists create the desired atmosphere. Although the first half after the interval seems a bit sluggish, the film picks up pace later. There are no moments in the movie that leave the viewer tense; small comedic jokes and gags that appear occasionally do an excellent job of making people laugh.

Ayushmann Khurrana once again demonstrates a departure from his usual roles. He convincingly portrays the confusion and naivety of a person caught between two different identities. His performance supports the film's narrative and looks good even in comedic scenes.

Rahul Bose's performance is particularly striking. It is interesting to watch him in such a humorous role, and he repeatedly steals the public's attention. His comedic timing enhances the film's entertainment value, and his character is likely to be remembered for a long time.

The late actor Mukul Dewa also leaves his mark on the film. His contribution adds substance to the story, and his presence on screen feels special. Watching 'Udta Tir' as his last film might evoke strong emotions, as it is an important moment related to his memory for viewers.

Suhail Nayyar gets a good role and utilizes it fully. Sara Ali Khan and Smita Tambe match their characters. Furthermore, Ram Kapoor, Bridgendra Kala, and Gulshan Grover also add an element of entertainment to the plot. Thanks to the supporting cast, the comedy becomes brighter in many scenes.

The songs in the film do not make a strong impression and seem mediocre. On the contrary, the background music enhances the suspense and comedic moments of the plot. The cinematography and editing are done reasonably well, although the pacing of the narrative could be better in some places.

Director and writer Akash A Kaushik presents an entertaining film that combines patriotism, action, suspense, and comedy. Although there are moments of slowing down the pace, the powerful plot twists, Rahul Bose's brilliant comedic acting, and Ayushmann's unique style compensate for these shortcomings. If you are looking for a film where confusion caused by mistaken identity and constantly changing situations provide a reason to laugh, then 'Udta Tir' is worth watching.

New trailer for the film 'Surya' starring Sunny Deol sparks debate over his familiar acting style

Following the great success of the film 'Gadar 2', Sunny Deol has released a new film, 'Surya: Ant se arambh tak'. He presented the trailer on October 19th, which was a gift to fans in celebration of his birthday. In this movie, Sunny acts against the corrupt medical system.

The trailer demonstrates how people tend to view doctors as deities and entrust their lives to them. However, when doctors betray that trust, ordinary people suffer collapse. Sunny raises his voice against fraud and money theft in hospitals, which resonates with his fans.

Nevertheless, critics note that Sunny's rage and aggressive speaking style resemble his older films, such as 'Gadar' or 'Damini'. Overall, it seems the actor is not presenting anything new; his aggression has been shown before, although his appearance in the film is slightly different. The plot also appears familiar.

Information about Ravi Kishan appeared in the trailer, but details of his role are currently unknown, although it is speculated that he might play a negative character. Critics believe that the theme of the hero speaking out against the medical establishment and public functionaries is not new, as Sunny himself played similar roles in the 90s.

According to some, the trailer's processing suggests that the film might have been shot long ago, lacking any new atmosphere or originality in Sunny Deol's performance. There is a feeling that the film is being released to monetize the actor's popularity, and its box office collection will show the time.

The film 'Surya' is scheduled for release in theaters on November 20, 2026. M. Padmakumar directed the picture. Besides Sunny, the film also stars beloved star Mims World Ravi Kishan. Sunny and Ravi Kishan will be accompanied by Pranjna Jayaswal, Tanushri Chakraborty, Manish Vadha, and Tinu Anand in leading roles. This crime thriller drama is a remake of the South Indian hit Joseph, although the director emphasized that it will not be an exact copy of the original plot, but will be presented in a new cinematic style and adapted for the Indian version.

Among Sunny Deol's upcoming projects are the films 'Gabbar' and 'Ramayana'. In 'Ramayana', Nitish Tiwari will cast him as Hanuman, which could be a turning point in the actor's career. The first episode of 'Ramayana' will be released during Diwali.

Rajinikanth's 'Jailer 2' garners significant audience interest while other releases receive mixed reviews

A variety of films were released in cinemas on Friday, receiving mixed reactions from both audiences and critics. However, Rajinikanth's new movie, 'Jailer 2,' was highly praised by everyone. His character as 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian proved very memorable, and the influence of this image was amplified in the second film.

Rajinikanth, who is 75 years old, began his box office success with 'Jailer 2.' On a weekday, the film collected a gross of 125 crore. However, the revenue for 'Jailer 2' significantly decreased on Friday. According to Sakencode, the film starring the Thai superstar earned 35.60 crore rupees on the second day in India. The Tamil audience contributed the most, as the number of Hindi screenings was small, bringing in only 2.75 crore rupees in net profit.

Over two days, 'Jailer 2' collected a total net income of 95.30 crore rupees. Interest in the film is also observed abroad. On Friday, Rajinikanth's film brought in a gross of 40 crore in international markets, allowing the total revenue to exceed 200 crore.

'Jailer 2' was released on October 15, and the next day, about three major films were released: 'Ranbaali' starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna from Telugu, as well as two Bollywood films—'Prahar' with Rajkumar Rao and 'Nayi Naveeli' with Yami Gautam. These three films received mixed public reviews, which was reflected in their first-day box office collections.

First, let's look at 'Ranbaali' by Vijay and Rashmika. This historical drama collected a net box office collection of 9.25 crore rupees on its premiere day, with a global collection of 16.50 crore. It should be noted that the film started well compared to the first day.

The Bollywood film 'Prahar' by Rajkumar Rao disappointed audiences, showing a net start of only 2.35 crore rupees, which is one of the weakest box office openings in the actor's career. Despite a strong cast and a convincing trailer, audience interest in watching the film has not yet materialized.

On the other hand, Yami Gautam's film 'Nayi Naveeli' performed better than the others. This fantasy family entertainer brought in a net of 3.25 crore rupees, and the global revenue reached 4.58 crore. Thus, Yami's film received a more positive response compared to the other movies.

Saturday will be a very important day for all these films. Since the festival of Dussehra has arrived, long weekends have begun. Audiences have a good opportunity to watch these films, and it will be interesting to see which film can take advantage of this advantage at the box office.
