In 2030, Uzbekistan plans a large-scale celebration of the 1050th anniversary of the birth of Abu Ali ibn Sina, a renowned encyclopedist and physician.
The Ministry of Justice reported that the Government approved a 'roadmap' on October 19 aimed at deepening the study and actively promoting Ibn Sina's scientific heritage.
According to this document, the creation of the Abu Ali ibn Sina Research Center is planned, which will be located at the Bukhara State Medical Institute. The main tasks of this center include conducting research related to Ibn Sina's medical practice and implementing the results in modern medicine.
The center will also be involved in collecting and translating manuscripts into Uzbek, as well as creating a corresponding electronic platform. It is planned to organize training courses and master classes for both medical professionals and individuals interested in the history of medicine.
An international scientific conference titled 'Ibn Sina – A Great Representative of Western and Eastern Philosophical Thought' will take place in Tashkent in October 2026. Additionally, the Ibn Sina International Prize will be established.
As part of the events, the translation of several works is planned, including 'Mujaz al-Qanun' ('Canon of Medical Science'), 'Al-Isharat wa at-Tanbihat' ('Indications and Reminders'), 'Danishnâme', 'Kitab al-Shifa' ('Book of Healing'), and 'Eastern Philosophy'. Scientific expeditions abroad are also provided for collecting manuscripts stored overseas.
In addition, open lectures, exhibitions, and conferences are planned to be held in various medical educational institutions, scientific centers, libraries, and healthcare facilities.
