Amazon has changed the name of its subscription service to Kindle+. Despite the change in nomenclature, the plan's structure remains unchanged, maintaining the functionality of Kindle Unlimited: subscribers pay a monthly fee to access titles available in the catalog while the subscription is active.
However, the main modification lies in the integration of audiobooks into the service. This expansion, however, is currently limited to the United States. It is important to note that this novelty does not aim to replace Audible, which is Amazon's specific platform for audiobooks, but rather to enrich the offering of narrated content within the Kindle ecosystem.
The company itself informed that the catalog may incorporate narrated works using its virtual voice technology. Although Amazon has already started using the Kindle+ name on pages intended for Brazil, audiobooks have not yet been integrated into the service in the country. In Brazil, access to this type of content continues to be exclusively through Audible.
In the Brazilian market, the subscription costs R$ 24.90 per month. This value was established in 2025, the period when Amazon implemented a price increase, justifying the adjustment by the expansion of the collection.
This rebranding occurs just a few weeks after Amazon presented a new line of Kindle readers. These devices received a modernized look and were launched in Brazil with prices starting at R$ 899.
Currently, there is anticipation about whether the company will extend this expansion of the subscription with audiobooks to Brazil. To date, no timeline has been disclosed for implementing this change outside the United States.
