Mikey and Draken, characters originating from Tokyo Revengers, will be released as additional content (DLC) in Season 3 of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves on the 22nd. This addition marks the first time SNK has made two fighters available simultaneously in the game, and the date coincides with the digital debut of the title on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Within Season 3, Mikey and Draken join Rick Strowd, Duck King, and Kim Kaphwan, who have already been included throughout the year. Furthermore, Laocorn Gaudeamus and Reina (from Tekken 8) are still expected, scheduled for December. The base game is already available for purchase on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and PC, through the Steam and Epic Games Store.
On the same day as the digital release on the Nintendo Switch 2, the physical version of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is scheduled for January 2027. For new console users, the Switch 2 Starter Edition already includes Season Passes 1 to 3, ensuring that Mikey and Draken are part of the initial package.
Tokyo Revengers is a manga created by Ken Wakui, which was published in Weekly Shonen Magazine in Japan between May 2017 and November 2022. The narrative focuses on Takemichi Hanagaki, a 26-year-old young man facing difficulties in his personal and professional life. He discovers that his ex-girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, was murdered by the Tokyo Manji (Toman) gang.
After being pushed onto subway tracks, Takemichi experiences an extraordinary event: he rewinds 12 years in time, returning to his school days. This gives him the opportunity to correct the past and alter the future. Due to his involvement with youth gangs, he begins to act as a link between the past and the future to understand and prevent tragic events.
Manjiro “Mikey” Sano is the leader of the Tokyo Manji Gang and is known in delinquent circles as “Invincible Mikey.” Ken “Draken” Ryuguji acts as Mikey's vice-leader and main support, responsible for keeping the leader grounded.
Although Takemichi is the central character, Mikey and Draken hold great importance to the plot. Toman is recognized as one of the most influential gangs in Tokyo, sustained by strong values of loyalty and friendship, which generates strong identification with the characters. They possess good character, but the future that Takemichi tries to modify is shaped by the accumulation of various situations.
SNK informed that the two characters will arrive with attacks, animations, and introductions faithful to the anime, but operating under the rules of Fatal Fury itself, including the REV system. In the Japanese version, the original anime dubbing is maintained by Yu Hayashi (Mikey) and Katsuya Fukunishi (Draken). In English, the voices are provided by Aleks Le and Sean Chiplock.
The move names are presented in English, as seen in previews. Press tests indicated that both are simple and enjoyable fighters to play, although they are considered less potent than previous guests, such as Kenshiro.
Regarding the manga, in Brazil, Tokyo Revengers is distributed by Editora JBC, which belongs to the Companhia das Letras Group. The publisher's catalog already registers at least 20 volumes of Ken Wakui's work, being complete in 32 physical volumes, in addition to having a digital version.
The anime adaptation is done by Liden Films studio. The first season was made available in Brazil by Crunchyroll, with Portuguese Brazilian subtitles and dubbing, while the subsequent two seasons are available on Disney+. The new arc, Three Titans War, premiered on October 2nd, with weekly episodes on Disney+.
There are also cinematic adaptations in Japan: Tokyo Revengers (2021) and the two 2023 films related to the Blood Halloween arc (Destiny and Confrontation), starring Ryo Yoshizawa as Mikey and Yuki Yamada as Draken. These 2023 films are not accessible on streaming services in Brazil, according to information.
