BYD has officially introduced the new generation of the Dolphin Mini in the Chinese market. This model, known by the name Seagull in its origin, has undergone a major overhaul, featuring a considerable increase in external dimensions, a more powerful powertrain, and various technological innovations.
Although the manufacturer has not yet released official dates or prices for the launch in Brazil, the vehicle's technical specifications have been detailed. Mechanically, the car uses an electric motor capable of generating up to 127 hp of power and 130 Nm of torque, operating with rear-wheel drive.
Potential buyers will have the option to choose between two battery types: one with 30.1 kWh, offering an autonomy of 320 kilometers, and a superior version of 39.2 kWh, extending the maximum range to 420 kilometers, all data based on the Chinese CLTC cycle standards.
A notable feature is the ultra-fast charging technology, designed to restore battery charge in a very short period using high-power chargers.
The project's dimensions have been completely altered. The electric vehicle now measures 4.205 meters in length, 1.810 meters in width, and 1.570 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.650 meters, which contributes to a more spacious interior.
The trunk space has also been significantly improved: the rear trunk accommodates 380 liters natively and can reach 1,380 liters when the seats are reclined. Additionally, there is a dedicated front compartment with a capacity of 94 liters.
The equipment list has been enriched with several structural and technological novelties. Highlights include the advanced steering assistance system called 'God's Eye,' features for automatic parking without the driver present, multi-link rear suspension, disc brakes on all four wheels, and 16-inch alloy wheels.
