The 'Accounting, Part 1' exam proved challenging for Westville High School graduates, who had to rush to complete all tasks within the allotted time.
Lia Govender from Pinetown described the exam as 'difficult but enjoyable.' She noted that the difficulty lay in the limited time, pointing out that some questions were harder than others. Govender emphasized that answering all questions was a valuable experience for her, as she enjoys the logic and problem-solving required in accounting.
To prepare for the exam, Govender regularly solved past test papers, which helped her overcome weaknesses. She plans to build a career in mechanical engineering, believing that employment opportunities in this field are significantly broader compared to other areas. Govender described her final year as eventful, with 'ups and downs,' adding that she managed the pressure the year created.
Another student, Hayley Mudli, reported that the exam was tough for her. She stated that the wording of the questions complicated the process, and time management was an issue. Mudli confirmed that despite the difficulties, she completed the exam. She is currently deciding between studying law or pursuing a B.Com General degree, noting that the year was intense, and she regrets that her time at Westville Girls’ High is coming to an end. She enjoyed balancing her academic workload with various school activities.
Furthermore, over 962,000 graduates are registered for the upcoming National Certificate Examinations in 2026, and tomorrow students will take the Mathematics, Part 1 exam.
