Yahya Golmohammadi has been officially appointed as the head coach of the Iranian U23 national football team following the conclusion of his contract with the Iraqi club Duhok.
The Iranian Football Federation announced Golmohammadi's appointment to lead the U23 team several hours after the termination of his agreement with the Iraqi side.
Previously, Hossein Abdi was the coach of the Iranian U23 national team, but he left the position after the team failed to advance from the group stage at the Asian Games in Nagoya.
Golmohammadi previously worked with several Iranian clubs, including Saba Battery, Zob Ahan, and Persepolis.
This 55-year-old coach achieved significant success with Persepolis, winning numerous titles in the Persian Gulf Pro League and leading the Tehran-based club to the AFC Champions League final.
Now, Golmohammadi will take charge of the Iranian U23 national team as the squad prepares for upcoming international competitions.
