WhatsApp plans to make significant changes to its interface by working on a new navigation bar. After implementing this update, millions of application users will receive an updated user experience.
According to information published by Wabetainfo, WhatsApp is developing a new bottom navigation bar called the dynamic bottom navigation bar. This new functionality will completely change the navigation panel at the bottom of the screen.
One of the advantages of the new design will be an improved scrolling process for users. When users scroll down a chat after receiving the update, the bottom bar will automatically narrow, allowing them to see more chats simultaneously.
However, if users start scrolling up the screen, the bottom navigation bar will restore its original size. One of the provided screenshots shows that the edges of the navigation bar will have a rounded shape, and switching between tabs will become simpler.
Currently, the design of the new WhatsApp navigation bar is in the testing phase and is available in the beta version. Although the release timeline for all users has not yet been determined, the update will be released to a wide range of users after all tests are completed.
