His teammate Mohammadbrahim Partaleh took silver with a throw of 38.47 meters, securing a winning pair for Iran. Hussein Hafaji from Iraq won bronze in this discipline with a result of 35.78 meters.

Elnaz Darabian from Iran narrowly missed the podium, taking fourth place with a throw of 14.65 meters, which matches the result of Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tuy from Vietnam.

These results underscored Iran's strength in field sports at the games in Nagoya, as athletes secured medals in javelin throw, shot put, and discus throw competitions. Afrooz's performance, which set a world record, was the main event of the day, and additional podium finishes strengthened Iran's overall medal count.
