Interihotel MAD26 event gathers design and hospitality professionals to discuss innovation and creativity

Between November 17 and 19, 2026, interihotel MAD26 will take place at IFEMA Madrid, bringing together architects, interior designers, hotel managers, and specialized companies. Organized by the AMBIT Living Spaces Cluster, the event is expected to attract over 14,000 professionals, showcase 350 exhibiting brands, and feature the participation of more than 200 international speakers.

Under the theme 'Creative Rebellion,' the program has been structured to integrate lectures, workshops, five thematic forums, and real-scale experimental areas, aiming to explore new methodologies in the design of hotels and restaurants.

Three approaches to reimagining hospitality

Given the growing uniformity of environments, the 'Creative Rebellion' initiative promotes creativity and optimism as means to create hospitality with a distinct personality. The event encourages professionals to reflect on the connection between spaces and people and places, the choice of materials, and the opportunities brought by new technologies.

On November 17, 'Inside Rebellion' will focus on identity, emotion, and experience. Participants include Stefan Sagmeister, Nini Andrade Silva, Bruzkus Greenberg, and Astet Studio, in addition to sessions dedicated to lighting and workshops on color, floral art, and ceramics in architecture.

On November 18, 'Green Rebellion' will address sustainability, circularity, and well-being. Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu, co-founders of the Neri&Hu office, will be present, along with Lucas Muñoz Muñoz, Studio Animal, Beaumier, and Rockwell Group. This day's agenda will investigate material recovery, spatial adaptability, and the link between lighting and health.

Finally, on November 19, 'Future Rebellion' will emphasize innovation, creativity, and emerging business models. Dani García will lead the keynote speech, initiating the debate on renewing the guest experience. Other participants include Laura Vall from Axel Hotels; Luca Pronzato, founder and artistic director of We Are Ona; and Kike Sarasola from Room Mate Hotels.

Knowledge applied to design

Five specialized forums have been organized to discuss the challenges inherent in space planning and development. The Future Living forum will address new accommodation formats; Circular Spaces will focus on transforming existing resources and areas; WellSpaces will cover neuroarchitecture and data-driven design; Hospitality Building Systems will cover industrialized construction; and AI Interiors will explore the use of artificial intelligence in architecture and interior design.

These forums, featuring Bill Browning, Jana Crepon (from Inside Outside), Jorge Alonso Rodríguez (from Chapman Taylor), and Tim Fu, will serve to unite research, investment, operations, and design through the sharing of tools and experiences.

Experiencing spaces at full scale

The Interiors Living Lab will transform theoretical concepts into tangible environments for visitors. The Sensory Explorer Concept Room, designed by HBA and inspired by the Barceló Hotel Group, will present The Dome: Earth, Light and Memory, a hotel room that represents Tunisian identity using geometry, light, and materiality.

The Social Playful Concept Restaurant, created by Livit and inspired by Lamucca, proposes a versatile gastronomic space where one can eat, work, socialize, or rest after a meal. The Materials Lab will display two installations: Materials by AMBIT Cluster, which will show innovative and sustainable materials provided by exhibitors; and Adaptable Materiality, an exhibition conceived by MATTER detailing the evolution of six material groups.

The Craft Lab, curated by Tachy Mora, will be dedicated to contemporary ceramics, presenting eight producers and brands, and demonstrating how craftsmanship, memory, and local context can give identity to hotel and restaurant design. The Xperience Lab will provide practical experiences with tools for Virtual and Mixed Reality creation, collaboration with AI agents, Augmented Reality visualization, and assembly of industrialized construction modules.

Design and industry for a new hospitality

The exhibition area will feature furniture, lighting, materials, textiles, and equipment, fostering dialogue between those who design, manufacture, and manage spaces. Additionally, interi-off will extend activities throughout Madrid from November 16 to 20, including visits, lectures, workshops, and professional meetings.

interihotel MAD26 offers three days dedicated to challenging established norms, promoting experimentation, and revealing new ways to design hotels and restaurants. Access is restricted to industry professionals, though information for visitors and registration is available.
