The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the Sulton Tex Group textile factory located in the Kashkadarya Free Economic Zone in the city of Karshi.
This $54 million facility is engaged in the production and dyeing of fabrics, and its production lines are designed to output 20,000 tons of products annually. The implementation of this project is part of efforts to stimulate the socio-economic development of the Kashkadarya region, and the factory has provided employment for 840 people.
One of the most important aspects of the enterprise is the introduction of water and energy-saving technologies. $3 million was invested in a closed water supply system that cleans and reuses over 95% of the water used in production, allowing for savings of up to 1.1 million cubic meters of water per year.
A gas generator unit was installed to ensure uninterrupted power supply. Additionally, solar panels with a total capacity of 3.5 MW were mounted on the roof and walls of the building. These measures aim to reduce costs for electricity, hot water, and steam, as well as decrease overall production expenses.
During the inspection, Mirziyoyev studied the production process and the factory's product exhibition. The President noted that the energy-saving technologies used at the enterprise could serve as an example for other textile producers.
Sulton Tex Group plans to continue investing in the region. A $70 million project is planned in the free economic zone, which is expected to create 3,570 jobs. The group also intends to invest $17 million in projects in other districts of the region, providing employment for another 1,220 people.
In a conversation with factory employee Dilora Kholiyorova, the President emphasized the importance of entrepreneurs in expanding production and creating added value, placing particular emphasis on the significance of environmentally friendly technologies.
