Four SUV models that ceased new vehicle sales in Brazil in 2026 maintain high demand in the used car market. According to a survey conducted by OLX, the first-generation Nissan Kicks registered the highest sales volume on the platform during the period between January and August.
In terms of interest, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport ranked first in both searches and listings. The other two models completing this list are the BMW X4 and the Subaru Forester.
This study covers vehicles whose sales as new cars were officially discontinued this year, even if the last units were removed from dealerships earlier.
The old Kicks remained available as Kicks Play after the launch of the new generation in 2025. Subsequently, it was succeeded by the Nissan Kait, an entry-level SUV derived from it and manufactured at the same plant located in Resende, Rio de Janeiro.
On OLX, the first-generation Kicks had an average price of R$ 111,913.
The Pajero Sport, which is imported from Thailand, stopped being sold at the beginning of the year due to its non-compliance with the L8 phase of Proconve, a program aimed at restricting emissions in new cars. Mitsubishi already plans to launch a new version of this SUV, scheduled for 2027.
The same technical factor led to the end of the Forester's commercialization in the country. Being the last Subaru model available in Brazil, it found no replacement, and the brand closed its last store in February. This model is also notable for being the most affordable on the list, with an average price of R$ 53 thousand.
Conversely, the BMW X4, an SUV with a coupe design that was once produced in Araquari, Santa Catarina, has the highest average value among the four mentioned, reaching R$ 262,900.
For Flávio Passos, Vice President of Autos at Grupo OLX, this data demonstrates that the cessation of new vehicle production does not necessarily imply a loss of consumer interest. He emphasizes that there is genuine demand for automobiles that still offer good value.
