Passengers of Etihad Rail will soon be able to easily reach the favorite theme parks on Yas Island thanks to a new agreement. The railway network has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Miral, which manages the attractions on Yas Island.
This agreement will ensure connectivity between the Etihad Rail Abu Dhabi Mohammed bin Zayed City station and the Yas Express shuttle network on Yas Island, solving first-and-last-mile problems for travelers.
After the launch of this connection, passengers arriving at the Mohammed bin Zayed City station will be able to use the free Yas Express shuttle and go directly to the island's main attractions, including Ferrari World Yas Island, Yas Waterworld Yas Island, Warner Bros. World Yas Island, and SeaWorld Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
Lisa Goswell, Senior Vice President of Sales at Miral Destinations, noted that this collaboration will make trips to and around the destination as seamless as possible. She stated: 'Our partnership with Etihad Rail is an important step towards creating a more integrated journey, connecting rail transport with the Yas Express network to enhance accessibility and convenience for our guests.'
Adhraa Al Mansoori, Executive Director of Commercial and Support at Etihad Rail Mobility, emphasized that the network's goal is to make rail travel a practical and convenient part of people's movement across the country. She added: 'Thanks to our partnership with Miral, passengers arriving at the Etihad Rail Abu Dhabi Mohamed bin Zayed City Station will have direct access to Yas Island and its diverse range of attractions and experiences.'
Adhraa Al Mansoori also mentioned that such partnerships help strengthen first-and-last-mile connectivity, making it easier for people to combine rail transport with other modes of transport within a single journey.
Previously, Miral announced plans to add three new Harry Potter-themed zones to Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, the construction of which is planned to be completed in 2029. At the beginning of this year, Walt Disney confirmed that plans for the creation of the first theme park in the Middle East—Disneyland Abu Dhabi—are steadily progressing despite recent regional instability.
The partnership also includes exploring future digital connectivity between the two transport ecosystems with the aim of creating an increasingly integrated route from rail journeys to arrival at Yas Island. This collaboration is part of a long-term strategic partnership between Miral and Etihad Rail, where both organizations are looking at further opportunities for mobility and destination access, supporting more sustainable tourism and growth in the UAE.
Over the next five years, Miral is investing over 12 billion dirhams in Yas Island to fund new projects, expand existing attractions, and increase hotel room capacity, aiming to solidify Yas Island's status as a leading global entertainment destination.
