Residents rush to buy DDA apartments: 2500 units booked within two hours of launch

Housing planning by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has received a significant response from Delhi residents seeking affordable housing. According to DDA data, more than 2500 LIG type apartments in Narela were booked just two hours after the start of online sales under the 2026 housing investment program. These apartments come with a 25 percent discount, and the initial price is set at 14.95 lakh rupees.

DDA began selling these apartments on October 20th on the occasion of Janmashtami, at 12:00 PM. The booking process operated on a 'first come, first served' basis.

As part of this initiative, DDA offered a total of 2516 apartments in Narela across Pocket 3 and Pocket 6. Of these, 1020 apartments are located in Pocket 3, and 1496 apartments are in Pocket 6. In Pocket 3, each apartment measures 49.90 square meters, and its estimated cost after applying the discount is set at 15.01 lakh rupees. In Pocket 6, the estimated cost of each apartment is 14.95 lakh rupees.

According to DDA, Narela is developing not only as a residential area but also as a center for education, institutions, and sports events. Work is currently underway to improve basic infrastructure and civic amenities. Investments in transport accessibility and other facilities are expected to contribute to the planned urban development of this area.

DDA notes that the response indicates high demand for affordable housing. Nevertheless, buyers are advised to verify information regarding the availability of the respective apartment, payment terms, location, and other necessary rules in official documents before finalizing the booking.

DDA launches new housing scheme; flats available in Narela for ₹15 lakh

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has introduced a new housing scheme for those dreaming of owning a home in Delhi. Under the 'DDA Housing Investment Scheme 2026', it has been announced that 2,516 flats will be made available for Economically Weaker and Low Income Group (LIG) residents in the Narela area, with a 25 percent discount also offered. The initial cost of these flats is approximately ₹15 lakh.

The registration process for the flats will begin on October 14, 2026, while bookings can be made from 12 PM on October 20, 2026.

Under this scheme, 1,020 flats for the LIG category will be provided in Pocket 3 of Sector G-2 to G-6 in Narela. The estimated plinth area of these flats is 49.90 square meters, and after the 25 percent discount, their initial estimated price is set at ₹15.01 lakh. Additionally, 1,496 flats of the same category will be available in Pocket 6, whose estimated plinth area is also 49.90 square meters, and their initial estimated price after the discount is ₹14.95 lakh.

In total, the scheme proposes to provide 2,516 flats, although DDA has clarified that the number of flats may increase or decrease.

The application process for the DDA Housing Investment Scheme 2026 will be completed in phases. The scheme brochure will be available for download from 12 PM on October 13, 2026. Interested applicants can register and book by visiting the DDA housing portal at https://eservices.dda.org.in.

To register on the portal, applicants must deposit a one-time fee of ₹2,500, which is non-refundable. Those who have already registered on the DDA housing portal do not need to re-register. A deposit of ₹1 lakh is mandatory for flat booking. Applicants should carefully check the eligibility criteria and other rules provided in the detailed brochure before applying.

According to DDA, the flat prices are currently only estimates; the final price of each flat will be determined based on its actual plinth area, which may lead to variations in prices at the time of allotment. Furthermore, the declared price does not include maintenance charges, water connection fees, and conversion charges where applicable. The remaining terms and conditions of the scheme will be available in the detailed brochure issued by DDA, which buyers must read carefully before booking.

DDA has presented this scheme as an opportunity to purchase property in Narela while providing affordable housing. The initial estimated price of approximately ₹15 lakh and the 25 percent discount make it a viable option for people with limited budgets to find a home.
