A delegation from Mehr Media Group held negotiations with the management of the news agency Armenpress in Armenia. The main topic of the meetings was expanding media cooperation and developing joint projects.
During the meeting with Armenpress director Narine Nazaryan and Mohammad Mahdi Rahmati, CEO of Mehr Media Group, he emphasized the importance of strengthening mutual understanding between the peoples of Iran and Armenia, as well as developing media cooperation between the two countries, according to Mehr.
Rahmati noted Armenpress's role in presenting an accurate image of Iran, adding that 'it is also important that we help Iranians better understand Armenia.' He mentioned that about 200,000 Iranian tourists visited Armenia in 2025, and stated that Mehr Media Group is ready to introduce the Iranian audience to the opportunities and development paths of Armenia.
The CEO also stressed the need for new steps in the relationship between these two media structures, indicating that such cooperation could extend to cinema, the production of short films and documentaries, as well as covering regional news, especially events in Iran and Armenia.
For her part, Narine Nazaryan emphasized the importance of the memorandum of cooperation signed between the two organizations in 2024, calling the agreement a vital commitment for bringing the societies of the two nations closer. She viewed the visit of the Mehr Media Group delegation as an opportunity to strengthen these ties.
Nazaryan stated that interaction between the two media outlets should not be limited to the exchange of news and content; it should also include the exchange of experience, mutual learning, and combating disinformation and manipulation in the media through the synergy of their capabilities. Furthermore, she highlighted the need to study closer cooperation in multimedia content production and the use of digital achievements.
In another part of the meeting, the Armenpress director announced that the news agency would hold a photo exhibition in the 'St. Mary' metro station in Tehran, to which the Mehr Media Group delegation expressed its readiness to provide media support for the event.
As part of the visit, members of the Mehr Media Group delegation toured various departments of Armenpress, familiarizing themselves with the history of the building, content production facilities, interview studios, press briefing rooms, and parts of the agency's archive materials.
