Honda CG 160 2027 arrives with updates in four versions, maintaining original mechanics

To celebrate the 50 years of continuous production of the CG family in Brazil, Honda has implemented several improvements to the country's best-selling motorcycle. The 2027 CG 160 line will be available at dealerships in November, covering the Start, Cargo, Fan, and Titan versions. Although no mechanical changes have been announced, all models will undergo a price adjustment of approximately 6%.

The main novelty introduced in the entry-level Start version is the inclusion of FlexOne, making it the last in the family to accept ethanol. Furthermore, the Start now features a USB-C port and a new switch on the left handlebar that includes an indicator light, allowing the rider to signal high beam without turning off the headlight. It retains features such as alloy wheels, front disc brake with CBS, digital dashboard, and LED taillight.

In terms of design, the Start and Cargo versions maintain the more rounded shape of the previous generation, while the Fan and Titan adopt geometric lines inspired by the CB 300F Twister, following the aesthetic of the 10th generation launched in 2025.

Improvements in higher versions

The top-of-the-line Titan version received the ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) system, which automatically activates turn signals during sudden braking to warn vehicles approaching from behind. This feature is described as low-cost and having a real impact in heavy traffic. The Titan also comes equipped with full LED lighting, including turn signals, and the hazard light button is available only in this version.

The ABS system, which arrived in the line in 2025, remains exclusive to the Titan, configured as a single-channel system acting on the front wheel. The Titan is also the only version equipped with a rear disc brake. The Fan, which is the best seller, retains CBS, a front disc, and a rear drum brake, and is sold for R$ 19,449.

Despite public requests, Honda maintained certain resistances, justifying that update projects and sophisticated parts increase acquisition and maintenance costs, which could impact the owner's budget.

The two intermediate versions gained the switch with indicator light and the USB-C port, replacing the USB socket that was previously restricted to the more expensive models. The Fan maintains LED headlights and taillights, a Blackout digital dashboard, and alloy wheels, while the Cargo preserves its differential feature: a high-resistance luggage rack and reinforced rear suspension for heavy use.

These updates are considered useful in daily life, although they have little technical impact, characterizing the type of change expected in a new model year.

Specifications and Colors

There were no modifications to the mechanics; the 160 engine maintains power of up to 14.7 hp and torque of 1.43 kgfm, using the 10th generation canister to comply with Promot 5. Prices have been adjusted across the entire line. Color options have also been renewed: the Start is now available in red, metallic silver, and black, dropping the pearlescent blue and red; the Fan offers red, metallic gray, and pearlescent gray, replacing previous colors; the Titan presents pearlescent blue, metallic gray, and red; and the Cargo remains only in white.

The new Honda CG 160 2027 will be available in stores in less than a month, offering a three-year warranty without mileage limits and free Pro Honda oil for seven services (supply starts from the third). The first service is performed every 1,000 km or six months, and subsequently every 6,000 km or six months.
