Uzbekistan plans to establish a microelectronics training center

Uzbekistan intends to establish a specialized center for training specialists in the fields of microelectronics, mechatronics, and integrated circuit design. This initiative is being implemented through cooperation between the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment of Uzbekistan and the Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC) of Malaysia.

The new center will operate under the supervision of qualification assessment centers overseen by the ministry. The main focus will be on vocational training and skills assessment in areas demanded by modern technological industries.

Citizens will be able to improve their qualifications and acquire new professional skills through the Professional Voucher system. The goal of this project is to expand opportunities for vocational education in areas such as microelectronics, mechatronics, and integrated circuit design (IC Design).

Experience of the Penang Skills Development Centre

The Penang Skills Development Centre, founded in 1989, specializes in training personnel for the electronics, microelectronics, semiconductor manufacturing, and automation industries. Its industrial partners include international companies such as Intel, AMD, Bosch, Renesas, and OSRAM.

Uzbekistan will send neurosurgeons for training in leading Japanese clinics

Uzbekistan plans to send specialists in neurosurgery and neurorehabilitation for training at advanced Japanese clinics. This issue was discussed during a meeting between the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Eldor Adilov, and Kenichi Matsumoto, Chairman of the Healthcare Committee of the Japan-Uzbekistan Silk Road Fund (JUSRF).

The parties reviewed possibilities for expanding cooperation in the fields of medicine, medical education, and pharmaceuticals. Special attention was paid to the project of creating a Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Neurology and Stroke, which is being implemented with the participation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The total cost of this project is 150 million US dollars, and its implementation is planned for the period from 2025 to 2032. The project includes the construction and equipping of a national center for neurology and neurorehabilitation, the supply of equipment to medical university clinics in Samarkand and Bukhara, as well as specialist training.

Minister Adilov emphasized Uzbekistan's interest in training doctors in Japanese clinics, organizing joint educational programs, and providing internships for mid-level medical personnel. Particular attention should be paid to modern technologies, practical skills, and patient care methods. The Minister also expressed hope that the fund would help establish direct contacts with relevant Japanese institutions.

During the negotiations, interaction in the pharmaceutical sector was also discussed. Uzbekistan has a mechanism for registering medicines and medical equipment approved by authorized regulatory bodies in Japan, provided it is recognized within the established procedure and applicable requirements are met.

Following the meetings, the parties confirmed their readiness to increase bilateral cooperation and continue implementing joint projects.
