IndusInd General Insurance Company Ltd, formerly known as Reliance General Insurance and part of the IndusInd International Holdings Ltd (IIHL) Group, announced on Tuesday the appointment of Sharada Mathur as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer after obtaining necessary approvals.
The company stated in its announcement that Mathur possesses thirty years of experience in the insurance and financial services sectors. He has significant experience in organizational transformation, distribution expansion, technology-driven innovation, growth, and management.
Prior to joining IndusInd General Insurance, he served as Managing Director and CEO at Universal Sompo General Insurance for over six years, where he led its transformation, strengthened distribution, risk management, and technology-enabled customer service capabilities.
He previously held leadership positions at SBI General Insurance and ICICI Lombard, contributing to their early-stage development. At IndusInd General Insurance, Mathur will lead the next phase of the company's transformation and growth, focusing particularly on customer centricity, digital innovation, insurance inclusion, profitable growth, and sound management.
