Tesla opens pre-orders for Roadster in UAE; price starts from 210,000 dirhams

Tesla has begun accepting pre-orders for its new Roadster in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This electric supercar, which demonstrated the ability to move upside down and potentially fly, was presented by Elon Musk during a recent demonstration in Texas.

The long-awaited vehicle, featuring gravitational counteraction, has appeared in the 'Vehicles' section of the Tesla website for the UAE. Customers can choose from two available options by placing a deposit ranging from 210,000 to 1.02 million dirhams. It is important to note that these amounts are only deposits for reservation, not the final selling price.

According to the Roadster Reservation Agreement, Tesla continues to work on the car's options, features, and hardware, so it cannot confirm the final cost. The final price will be determined after customers configure their vehicles.

There is also a third option, which Tesla claims can fly, but it is available only by invitation. The booking page in the UAE presents two options with different specifications and deposit amounts:

The first option, named 'Performance', is described as 'road-ready'. This two-seater vehicle is equipped with active aerodynamics and a multi-mode suction system designed to improve handling and grip. To reserve it, the buyer must pay an initial deposit of 20,000 dirhams, which is fully refundable, followed by another 190,000 dirhams within 10 days. The total reservation amount is 210,000 dirhams.

The second option, 'Thrust', is positioned as 'race-ready'. This limited two-seater vehicle includes all the features of the Performance version, plus boosters that, according to Tesla, allow the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under one second. Buyers need to pay an initial deposit of 20,000 dirhams (also fully refundable), followed by 1 million dirhams within 10 days. The total reservation amount reaches 1.02 million dirhams. Due to limited availability, Tesla has restricted reservations to one per customer.

The agreement stipulates that the reservation becomes valid only after the company receives full payment, including the amount due within 10 days, and confirmation of the booking via email. Furthermore, reserving the Roadster does not constitute an actual order or purchase of the vehicle; it merely secures a provisional priority spot, and buyers are invited to configure their cars and complete the purchase closer to production. If a purchase is made, the entire deposited reservation amount will be deducted from the final vehicle price.

For those unsatisfied with the upside-down movement capabilities and acceleration to 100 km/h in under a second, Tesla offers the flying Roadster. This third version, named 'Rocket', is described by the company as 'flight-ready'.

This single-seater vehicle combines the characteristics of the two previous models with what Tesla calls a 'full flight system'. Unlike the Thrust version, which has rear boosters, the Rocket is equipped with cold gas thrusters located around the body. Tesla claims that these thrusters allow the vehicle to gain altitude and forward momentum, as well as rotate sideways during flight. The thrusters make microscopic adjustments in fractions of a second to stabilize the apparatus in the air. Tesla concludes with the statement: 'Yes, it can fly.'

However, there is a condition: simply visiting the website and making a reservation is not possible. Tesla has marked Rocket as 'By Invitation Only', meaning potential buyers must receive an invitation to reserve the most extreme version of the Roadster. The reservation amount for this model is not specified.

Tesla explicitly states that Rocket is not approved for use on public roads. The company also notes that the configuration is not available in all regions, and its presence depends on local laws and regulations. The main unresolved question remains when delivery will actually take place. The Roadster Reservation Agreement acknowledges that the vehicle is still under development, stating that 'we cannot guarantee when your vehicle will actually be delivered.' The agreement states: 'No delivery date is offered, implied, or guaranteed,' and adds that the company is not responsible for delays.

Musk previously stated that production of the redesigned Roadster would begin in 2028, but Tesla has not yet announced the start of deliveries. The Roadster is one of Tesla's most anticipated vehicles since the first presentation of the second generation in 2017.

How an American resident managed to start a business in India: Sarika's story of transitioning from civil service preparation to international experience

Sarika, a resident of Faridabad in the state of Haryana, shared a video detailing her journey from India to America. In her account, she emphasized that achieving growth sometimes requires stepping out of one's comfort zone, which necessitates leaving home and expanding one's social circle. She also addressed the common question about the necessity of leaving one's familiar environment, drawing upon her own life experiences.

Sarika stated that she grew up in Faridabad, and her father was a Class 1 government servant (CPWD) who is now retired. From childhood, she harbored a dream, like many young people, to prepare for civil service after completing her engineering education, and she actively pursued this. During her studies, she prepared twice for military and air force admissions, taking exams but being rejected at the final interview stage after five days of waiting.

While studying in Delhi, when she enrolled in college, new acquaintances introduced her to the opportunities within the private sector. She learned that besides government positions, there were numerous options in private companies offering good salaries, career advancement opportunities, and opportunities to travel abroad. Previously, she only knew about civil service, but interacting with new people changed her worldview, revealing previously unknown possibilities.

Following this, Sarika began exploring the private sector. She secured her first job while still in college, commuting daily from Faridabad to Gurugram. This experience proved very beneficial: she became more acquainted with the corporate world, made new friends, and learned a great deal. However, when she got her second job, her approach to work, passion, and ambition transformed. There too, she found good friends. She noted that every new environment and social circle taught her a new definition of success.

Subsequently, marriage occurred, and changes began in Sarika's life. Her husband also worked for about two years after college but then started his own business. Gradually, they established a successful business in Gurugram, while Sarika's work was also going well. Nevertheless, the idea of moving away from Gurugram seemed impossible.

However, Sarika and her husband loved traveling, so they frequently visited other countries. During these trips, they enjoyed meeting new people, learning about their lifestyles, and understanding their perspectives. It was during one such trip that they met a pastoral couple who successfully ran their business in Pakistan while living in America. This encounter showed her that having a permanent residence does not mean a career must stop; one can always seek new opportunities.

Gold prices in Dubai fell below 500 dirhams; 24k lost 30.5 dirhams in a month

On Tuesday morning, gold prices in Dubai dropped below the 500 dirham mark. Over the past month, the precious metal has lost 30.5 dirhams.

Specifically, the 24K variant traded at 497 dirhams per gram, which is below the 500.50 dirhams level recorded at the close of trading on Monday. Other varieties, such as 22K, 21K, 18K, and 14K, also showed declines, trading at prices of 460.25, 441.25, 378.25, and 295 dirhams per gram, respectively.

Globally, spot gold rose by 0.07 percent, reaching $4143.48 per ounce. Silver increased by 0.52 percent, trading at $57.44 per ounce.

Gold's weekly return remained more stable, showing a drop of 0.70 percent on Monday, while silver faced pressure, falling by 6.33 percent. Financial analyst and Chief Investment Officer of Century Financial, Vijay Valecha, commented on this situation.

Following comments from US Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh at the annual IMF meeting in Bangkok, gold recovered above the $4180 mark as traders adjusted their expectations regarding interest rate hikes.

Valecha noted that Warsh made no statements about the results of the Fed meeting this month, causing the probability of a rate hike in October to decrease from 21 percent last week to 12.7 percent.

He also explained that this negatively affected US Treasury bonds across the yield curve, contributing to the recent weakness of the US dollar and supporting the non-yielding metal. Furthermore, oil prices fell from monthly highs after US President Trump canceled sanctions and tariffs on Russian energy to keep Moscow at the negotiating table on Ukraine.

According to Valecha, this weakened inflation concerns and expectations of tighter Fed policy. Gold also attracted demand for capital preservation amid concerns raised by artificial intelligence investments, which triggered stock sell-offs and bond yield declines.

When buying gold earrings: why the HUID numbers may differ on each earring

When purchasing gold earrings, buyers often notice that each earring in a pair has its own unique HUID number. Many assume that since the earrings belong to a pair, their numbers should match. However, this is not the case.

According to the rules of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), every jewelry unit in a pair must have a separate hallmark and a unique HUID number. The purpose of this is the individual registration of purity and identification of each item.

What is HUID?

HUID, which stands for Hallmark Unique Identification, is a six-digit alphanumeric code assigned to every hallmarked item. This means that the HUID of one earring will differ from the HUID of the other. According to BIS, this number helps track and identify the jewelry piece. Customers can check it using the Verify HUID function in the BIS Care application.

Why do both earrings in a pair have different numbers?

BIS states that hallmarking is mandatory for each item in a pair. The reason lies in the possibility of replacing one item with another. If both had the same identifier, replacing one part could lead to a breach of purity. Therefore, the identification of both earrings is maintained separately.

Thus, if you bought a pair of 22-carat gold earrings, it is completely normal to see the BIS logo, the purity indication, and different HUID numbers on both earrings. There is no need to worry about this.

What else to consider along with HUID

Jewelry made of hallmarked gold contains three mandatory marks: the BIS logo, the gold purity indicated in carats and fineness, and the six-digit HUID number. For example, 22-carat gold may have a fineness of 916, while 18-carat will have 750, and 14-carat will have 585. Consequently, it is necessary to check not only the HUID but also the information regarding carats and fineness.

How to check HUID?

If you need to verify the information about an earring or another hallmarked jewelry item, you can use the BIS Care application, which contains the Verify HUID function. Through this, you can view details related to the HUID, as well as information about the jeweler.

Another important point is that the requirement to include the HUID number on the receipt is not yet mandatory. According to BIS, including the HUID number on the receipt is voluntary. Nevertheless, the receipt must contain information about the jewelry item, the net weight of the precious metal, carats, and fineness.

Therefore, next time you buy a pair of earrings, if you notice different HUID numbers on both pieces, it is not an error. On the contrary, it is part of the BIS system that allows tracking the purity and identification of each jewelry item individually.
