The mid-size SUV that is the best-selling in Brazil, the Jeep Compass, has received new electrified versions. The 2027 model is presented with a 48V Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) system, which costs 7 thousand reais more than the equivalent flex engine version and exempts the vehicle from traffic restrictions in São Paulo.
This system combines a 1.3 turbo-flex engine with 176 horsepower and 27.5 kgf·m of torque with an electric motor of 15 horsepower and 6.6 kgf·m of torque. It is capable of recovering energy during braking and assisting the internal combustion engine during startup.
Jeep claims a potential fuel saving of up to 11%, but this increase is observed exclusively in urban conditions. According to Inmetro data, the Compass with mild hybrid consumes 11.2 km/l on gasoline in city operation, compared to 10.1 km/l for the non-electrified Longitude flex model.
On the highway, the advantage disappears: consumption is 11.8 km/l versus 12.1 km/l for the non-electronic version. The technology is available in the Longitude Night Eagle trim (price 206,990 reais) and Série S trim (price 233,990 reais). These versions may also qualify for an IPVA discount in six states, according to local legislation.
The base Compass MHEV version will cost 7 thousand reais less than the Toyota Corolla Cross XRV Hybrid (price 213,990 reais), which is the competitor's most affordable hybrid and is equipped with a full hybrid system (HEV).
The Sport (price 174,990 reais) and Longitude (price 199,990 reais) trims continue to use only the flex engine. The top model, Blackhawk (price 278,990 reais), retains the 2.0 turbo-flex Hurricane engine with 272 horsepower and 40.8 kgf·m of torque, a nine-speed automatic transmission, and 4x4 all-wheel drive.
All modifications receive new design wheels: 18 inches for Sport and Longitude, and 19 inches for Night Eagle, Série S, and Blackhawk. A new color palette is also available—Slash Gold. Premium seat upholstery is now standard in the cabin, and the Série S and Blackhawk versions feature suede-like panels (fabric imitating suede) on the dashboard and doors.
The Compass has held leading positions in the segment for nine years and, according to Jeep itself, is the only mid-sized SUV with over 35,000 registrations in 2026. The new generation, which was already presented in Europe, is expected in Brazil in 2028.
