GTA 6 will feature hundreds of explorable interiors and a narrative inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2

Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) will launch with hundreds of indoor environments available for players to explore. This information was revealed by members of Rockstar Games during an interview given to journalist Jason Schreier of Bloomberg, indicating the developer's intention to increase the depth of interaction with the franchise's open world.

In addition to the settings, the new title will feature a narrative structure that, according to Schreier, is more similar to Red Dead Redemption 2 than GTA 5, particularly in the development of the bond between protagonists Jason and Lucia.

Rockstar confirmed to Bloomberg that the world of GTA 6 will include hundreds of small accessible interior spaces. The goal of this feature is to allow players to investigate establishments and other locations with a high degree of detail, thus expanding opportunities for engagement with the setting.

Aaron Garbut, one of the directors at Rockstar Studios, emphasized the team's rigor in creating each room, covering everything from character and object placement to the marks left on table surfaces. One example cited is the possibility of entering a gas station and stealing money without attracting the attention of others.

Although the quantity of interiors has been confirmed, the developer has not yet specified the exact number of locations that will be open to the public.

Another notable point highlighted in the report is Rockstar's choice regarding its narrative approach. Jason Schreier pointed out that the story of GTA 6 draws references from Red Dead Redemption 2, especially in how it builds its characters and interpersonal bonds.

Unlike the dynamic observed in the protagonists of GTA 5, Jason and Lucia are introduced as individuals who enjoy spending time together. The connection between these characters can also be shaped by the decisions players make during the campaign, although Rockstar has not yet detailed how such choices will impact the plot.

The complexity of the open world will follow principles employed in Red Dead Redemption 2, maintaining a focus on interactions and subtle details of the settings.

GTA 6 is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, with availability for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. The original news about GTA 6 having hundreds of explorable interiors and a story inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2 was initially published by Olhar Digital.
