Uzbekistan and the USA sign $12 billion agreements in trade and technology sectors

Uzbekistan and the USA have concluded fifty-four agreements covering trade, investment, and technology sectors, with a total value reaching $12 billion. These agreements span areas such as energy, transport, healthcare, education, agriculture, mining, finance, and digital technologies.

The announced projects include the supply of aircraft engines for Uzbekistan Airways, as well as the localization of railway equipment production. Furthermore, the parties agreed on developing satellite communications and cooperation in the field of critical minerals. However, the details regarding the distribution of the total amount and the timelines for implementing individual agreements have not yet been determined.

In the transport sector, the partnership with GE Aerospace involves providing engines for new Uzbekistan Airways aircraft. Agreements with Wabtec aim to localize the production of railway equipment and its components directly in Uzbekistan.

The financial sector will receive support from agreements with Franklin Templeton, Oppenheimer & Co., Citigroup, and BlackRock. These agreements will enable Uzbek enterprises to access global capital markets, attract institutional investors, and secure financing for infrastructure needs.

In the mining industry, cooperation with ReElement Technologies, Traxys, and Trafigura will involve exploration and development of deposits, technology exchange, and supply of mineral raw materials. It is worth noting that Uzbekistan had previously proposed to the USA to consider joint work in this area.

Additional agreements concern the implementation of medical technologies from GE HealthCare, increasing agricultural productivity in collaboration with Valmont Industries, and developing satellite communication with the participation of Amazon Leo. Previously, Uzbekistan initiated a proposal to build a strategic partnership with the USA in the field of critical minerals, covering geological exploration, raw material processing, and the creation of local industrial clusters.
