Croatia is studying the possibility of cooperation with Uzbekistan as a priority partner for recruiting qualified personnel. This was reported by the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan, citing negotiations that took place during the working trip of the Director of the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan, Mukhsinhodji Abdurakhmonov.
The discussion was held with representatives of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) and the Croatian Employers' Association (HUP). The main topic was the creation of an intergovernmental mechanism for the organized and legal recruitment of Uzbek specialists into the Croatian labor market.
According to the proposed model, requests from Croatian employers for staff recruitment will be directed to the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan through the Croatian state employment service. Before employers select candidates, they will undergo professional and language training in Uzbekistan.
Furthermore, this proposal includes accelerating the procedures for issuing work and residence permits to citizens selected through this intergovernmental mechanism. The Croatian side noted high demand for workers in sectors such as construction, tourism, hotel and restaurant business, healthcare, and retail trade.
During the meetings, the idea of inviting a delegation of 10–30 Croatian companies to an international business forum to be held in Uzbekistan was also discussed. During the visit, company representatives will be able to visit training centers and directly select candidates. The goal of the proposed mechanism is to strengthen direct interaction between Croatian employers and Uzbek specialists, as well as expand opportunities for legal employment abroad.
