SUPCON integrates Alibaba's QwenWork agent into its marketing chain with expansion plans

SUPCON Technology, a company specializing in industrial automation and artificial intelligence based in Hangzhou, has begun utilizing QwenWork—an enterprise AI agent product from Alibaba—in its marketing operations. The parties signed an agreement on strategic cooperation on October 16th. The ceremony was attended by SUPCON Vice President Shi Xiaolei, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Group Vice President Zhang Jing, and QwenWork Vice President Zhu Hong, according to the Chinese tech resource Leiphone.

Founded in 1999, SUPCON positions itself as an industrial AI platform company built on industrial data, featuring large models at its core and agents deployed in various scenarios. The company focuses on manufacturing industries such as petrochemicals and chemical industry, claiming to have over 40,000 clients in more than 50 countries and regions.

The first project covers the entire marketing chain cycle, from collecting market leads to receiving final payments. SUPCON noted that its frontline employees often spent the day visiting clients and the evening preparing materials, and that developing a proposal could take over five days, starting from on-site research to the finished document. Thanks to QwenWork handling market research and leveraging the company's internal knowledge, SUPCON states that the time has been reduced to approximately one day, representing an efficiency gain of about fivefold. These figures are proprietary data of the company.

SUPCON plans to integrate QwenWork into procurement, supply chain management, finance, human resources, research and development, and regulatory compliance processes. Furthermore, the company intends to use QwenWork's skills function to package years of sales experience into an AI marketing skills library that other companies in the manufacturing sector can reuse.

Alibaba opened QwenWork for public beta testing on August 3rd, consolidating its previous agent products QoderWork, Wukong, and MuleRun into a unified working platform. Alibaba reports that QwenWork surpassed 30 million users in its first month, with corporate users making up more than half. Other named corporate users include Changan Automobile, FAW Toyota, Yihai Kerry Arawana, and Transfar Group.

The deal with SUPCON followed the release of the e-commerce version of QwenWork, which entered invitation-only testing this week, as Alibaba actively promotes this product for industry applications.
