Cancer patients will receive good news: the prices for 137 medications will be reduced by up to 70% starting November 9. This decision was made after the Supreme Court noted the significant difference between the price for the retailer and the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of medicines presented to patients.
The state has set a limit on trade markups at 30%. The drug pricing regulator, the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), announced on Saturday the inclusion of 137 unplanned anti-cancer drugs in the list to address the issue of excessive trade markups, citing Paragraph 19 of DPCO, 2013.
It is important to note that this list also includes patented drugs.
