Actor Shahbaz Khan plays Ravana in Ramlila Kadakdum, noting connection to Bollywood

The role of Ravana in the epic Ramayana is a complex challenge for any artist, requiring a powerful voice, weighty dialogues, and the ability to convey deep emotions to the audience. Actor Shahbaz Khan performed this role in the Ramlila at Kadakdum, East Delhi. The audience was greatly impressed by Shahbaz Khan's appearance on stage, given his experience in the film and television industry.

Shahbaz Khan's story extends beyond simply participating in the Ramlila; he has long been part of the world of acting, playing historical characters from Hader Ali on television to various roles in films.

The Hanuman Ramlila is taking place at CBD Ground in Kadakdum, Delhi, running from October 10th to October 20th. Shahbaz Khan participated in portraying Ravana, and his performance generated great enthusiasm among the public.

The performance showcased important plotlines of the Ramayana, such as the Panchavati episode, Sita's abduction, Jatayu's death, and Lord Rama's vow. The scenes of Sita's abduction and Jatayu's battle were particularly noteworthy. Sita's abduction marks a turning point in the Ramayana, when Ravana deceitfully takes Sita away. Jatayu fights him, sustaining serious injuries, after which he informs Lord Rama about the abduction.

Recreating these events on stage presents a challenge for actors, demanding not only acting skill but also the ability to convey emotions to the viewers.

Shahbaz Khan, who played Ravana, has worked in both Indian cinema and television. He was born in Madhya Pradesh, and his father was involved in music. In the world of acting, he has carved out a unique niche, especially through his portrayal of historical and negative roles.

One of the key moments in his career was playing the role of Hader Ali in the series 'The Sword of Tipu Sultan'. Furthermore, he appeared in series such as 'The Great Maratha', 'Chandrakanta', and 'Betaal Pachisi'. Shahbaz Khan also acted in films including 'Major Saab', 'Raju Chacha', 'The Hero: Love Story of a Spy', and 'Agent Vinod'.

Embodying historical and fictional characters in series requires a strong voice, facial expressions, and convincing dialogue delivery. Mentioning Shahbaz Khan's name might remind many viewers of the golden age of historical television series. However, his career cannot be limited solely to villains or historical figures; he has worked in diverse types.

His experience in both television and film has allowed the actor to understand the specific demands of different media. Unlike filming in front of a camera, where the slightest emotion is captured, on an open stage, the actor must use voice and gestures to convey the message to a distant audience.

For Shahbaz Khan, the Ramlila stage was particularly interesting because the story is already ingrained in the consciousness of the viewers. The public evaluates not only how the dialogues are delivered but also how vividly the artist embodies the character.

Shahbaz Khan described the role of Ravana in Kadakdum as both challenging and creatively satisfying. The appeal of the Ravana character lies in the fact that he is not merely an antagonist in the Ramayana. Despite being a powerful king and scholar, he falls due to his own arrogance and decisions. The actor playing this role must understand both the influence and the ultimate outcome of this character.

During the Ramlila, Shahbaz Khan emphasized that it is not just entertainment but also an opportunity to learn about culture, traditions, and social values. He urged parents to bring their children to the Ramlila so that the younger generation can connect with their cultural roots and absorb values such as respect for elders.

According to Vinay Jain, the minister of Hanuman Ramlila, the committee has been organizing this performance in Kadakdum for many years. Measures have been taken to ensure audience safety with support from the Delhi police, including the deployment of volunteers and video surveillance. Seating areas for spectators are also provided.

A unique aspect of the Ramlila is that although the story and characters are old and familiar, the production experience and the actors change every year. This year, Shahbaz Khan plays Ravana in Kadakdum, and his fame is linked not only to this single role but also to his long acting journey in film and television.

Review of the film 'Naiyi Naveli': Yami Gautam played a witch, the plot contains references to the Ramayana

Today promises to be a special day for film lovers as a series of movies have been released simultaneously. The award-winning national actress Yami Gautam presented her new film 'Naiyi Naveli'. The film's trailer was impressive and amusing, and the story seemed quite original—a narrative about a woman who is a witch.

The creators of the film are Anand El Rai and Himanshu Sharma, who previously directed hits such as 'Ranjana' and 'Tanu Weds Manu'. They are known for bringing something new and unique to every project they undertake. Therefore, expectations for Yami's film were high, and the cast features strong performers.

The action takes place in the city of Merat, where Raja (Adinant Kotare), the eldest son of the Avasti family, marries a girl (Yami Gautam). However, Raja's younger brother, Bantu (Anarag Thakur), dislikes his sister-in-law because he suspects she is a witch. Mohini behaves very strangely: she does not attend the temple but performs worship at the cemetery. People she touches become healthier. Despite looking like a sweet and pious girl, she is in danger if someone with ill intentions looks at her.

The entire Avasti family begins an investigation to uncover the truth about Mohini. One day, they discover that the daughter-in-law they considered meek and devout is actually a powerful goddess who has come to earth to eliminate evil. Her story dates back to the Treta Yuga, the time when Lord Rama and Ravana lived. Viewers will only understand which specific story related to the Ramayana led Mohini into the Avasti family by watching the film.

When presenting 'Naiyi Naveli', an important warning was initially given. Yami Gautam clearly stated that this story is purely fictional, and some parts do not relate to the actual history. Since the film contains many references and mentions related to the Ramayana, this warning was issued so that viewers would not confuse real history with the fictional plot. Yami Gautam's film starts with a hint of the Ramayana, and by the end of the viewing, it becomes clear why it is being released for the festival of Dussehra.

According to the creators, 'Naiyi Naveli' is a fantastic family entertainment film, and it indeed has a lot of humor. It makes you laugh from the very beginning. All members of the Avasti family are given sufficient screen time, and they are given time for viewers to understand their characters and empathize with them, which contributes to the good humor. The first half of the film is saturated with comedy and suspense, during which the entire story of Mohini is revealed.

However, after Mohini's identity is revealed, the film begins to weaken. By the intermission, the plot starts to fall apart. The second half does not make as much impression. The story shifts towards family drama and showcasing the villain's power, into which zombies also intervene. There are moments when the viewer wonders why this is happening. Although including references to the Ramayana is a good idea, over time it starts to seem inappropriate. Writer Himanshu Sharma perhaps should have presented this more successfully. The film's ending is weak; the attempt to teach a lesson for the Dussehra festival was not convincing enough. The dialogues are also not strong enough to warrant repetition. As for the songs, they also do not deserve a second listen.

In terms of acting, Yami Gautam and Adinant Kotare carry the film. This is Yami's first appearance in the role of a 'Superwoman', and it was pleasant to see that the main role belongs to a female character. Adinant Kotare also demonstrated surprisingly excellent acting, as suggested in the trailer.

Next are the supporting actors, who added spice to this film. Sunita Rajwar, Anarag Thakur, Aditya Kulshrestha (Kullu), Mita Vaishisht, Pratik Pachori, Sushmita Mukerji, Sonal Joe, Sunil Sinha—all of them performed well. Anarag Thakur, who played Bantu in the film, deserves special mention. Every scene had great comedic delivery and emotion. The actor demonstrated a good range in his performance.

The famous stand-up comedian and writer Kullu also plays a funny role that genuinely makes people laugh. At the same time, the viewer feels some regret for him. There is a unique aspect in the plot involving the interaction between Kullu and Mita Vaishisht, which perhaps no one expected to see. You will understand this by watching the film.

Overall, Yami Gautam's film 'Naiyi Naveli' is an average entertainment product whose plot does not amaze the imagination, but the comedy might appeal to you. You can show this film to your children for the festival of Dussehra.

Gulshan Devaiah supports Ramayan Ranbir's film, mentioning the success of Rajamouli's films

Actor Gulshan Devaiah stated that audiences should support Ranbir's film Ramayan, regardless of whether they like it or not. The film Ramayan is currently one of the most discussed pictures in Bollywood and is scheduled for release for the celebration of Diwali.

The internet community is divided regarding this picture: some are enthusiastic, while others are trolling the film. However, Devaiah insists on the necessity of supporting this project.

In a recent interview with HT, Gulshan Devaiah highly praised the efforts of the creators of the film Ramayan, who aim to bring Indian cinema to the world stage. He noted that the film, in his opinion, is being created with a very wide audience in mind, including both Indians living abroad and non-Indian audiences, with the goal of reaching people all over the world.

Devaiah emphasized that, just as Hollywood is the largest market for English-language films, any Indian film striving for global recognition is a great achievement. He called for support for Indian films that wish to carve out their niche on the international stage.

As an example, he cited SS Rajamouli's film RRR, which achieved significant success in America. Gulshan noted that although he personally did not feel a strong emotional connection to RRR, he was glad of its huge success in the US, considering it a positive moment for Indian cinema, as Rajamouli cemented his place there, which will likely inspire other filmmakers.

He concluded that Ramayan is likely a step in this direction. It is important that our films reach a global audience while remaining connected to their culture. Devaiah also mentioned that he himself has actively worked in Bollywood and recently achieved success in the South industry by playing an important role in the blockbuster Kantara Chapter 1 Rishab Shetty last year.

Who is the heroine of the film 'Prem Kitanu' — a relative of Ravina Tandan from a film family?

Despite the fact that the film 'Prem Kitanu' with Vir Pahadiya was not a big box office hit, its main heroine Afia Saied attracts significant public attention. She has won the hearts of viewers thanks to her debut film, where she plays the role of Suhani, and her beauty inspires admiration from fans.

Afia has long-standing connections with the Bollywood industry and comes from a film family. Many do not know that Afia is the niece of film personality Sajid Nadiadwala. Her mother, Afifa Nadiadwala Saied, is Sajid Nadiadwala's sister.

Furthermore, Afia has a very close relationship with Ravina Tandan. Some time ago, Ravina herself called herself her 'proudest aunt' in one of her posts and supported Afia at the time of her Bollywood debut.

Afia often attracts attention on Instagram due to her glamorous photos, and fans believe that she can compete with Bollywood beauties in appearance. Before becoming an actress, Afia worked in theatrical productions and short films, and 'Prem Kitanu' gave her a major breakthrough in Bollywood, although the project itself did not bring much income.

Thanks to her family ties to the film industry, Afia received her first big chance, but she will have to forge her own path further, as family connections alone are not enough to achieve stardom. After 'Prem Kitanu', a real test will begin for Afia, and it remains to be seen if she will become a big Bollywood star.
