Love for pickleball unites young Americans and Chinese in exchange program

Currently, a group of about thirty students from American colleges is in China, participating in an intercultural exchange program based on the game of pickleball. In addition to friendly matches with their Chinese peers, they are also visiting historical landmarks, technology centers, and urban renewal projects in China.

This trip coincides with China's announcement of its intention to invite 100,000 young Americans to the country to participate in exchange and study programs over the next five years.

The program is organized jointly by the China Center for International People Exchange (CCIPE), the Arts and Culture Students Association of China (ART CSSA), and other relevant organizations. A key element of the event is the International Youth Partnership Program, which is implemented at the initiative of the China Science and Technology Development Foundation and promoted jointly by this Foundation and ART CSSA.

CGTN is following their journey to observe how a shared love for sports contributes to the rapprochement of youth from the two countries.
