A spokesperson for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mao Ning, stated on Friday that China relies on the joint efforts of the European Union (EU) to promote balanced growth and sustainable development of bilateral trade, as well as to maintain the stable and uninterrupted operation of global industrial and supply chains.
These remarks were made by Mao Ning during a regular press briefing when she was asked about recent developments in trade relations between China and the EU.
Mao noted that the recent second meeting of the China-EU trade and investment consultation mechanism demonstrated positive progress, indicating the ability of both sides to resolve disagreements through dialogue.
Furthermore, China expressed hope that the EU side would fulfill its commitments regarding free trade and openness, adhere to WTO rules, and refrain from implementing protectionist and discriminatory measures and policies.
