Diego Poncelet sets new speed record in downhill skateboarding

Diego Poncelet, a 27-year-old Spanish athlete, registered a new feat in the Guinness World Records by achieving an impressive speed of 151.83 kilometers per hour while practicing downhill skateboarding.

This record was achieved on September 22nd. Poncelet reached this mark while descending a specific section of the Route des Éboulements, located in the Charlevoix region of Quebec province, Canada. The team representing the athlete, Red Bull, released this information.

It is important to note that this same course had previously hosted an earlier record, which occurred nine years ago.

According to the Guinness World Records website, Diego Poncelet is recognized for his participation in high-speed downhill competitions and for his daring projects aimed at expanding the limits of this discipline. The record was set using an approved downhill skateboard.

The athlete also holds the title of two-time world champion in this discipline. Red Bull made a video of the record available and detailed the route Diego took to achieve this new mark.
