Scientists from Italy and Sweden were able to discover a phenomenon known as the 'buba-kiki' effect in adult domestic dogs. Two experiments conducted established that dogs significantly more often focused their gaze on a round shape when listening to the sound 'buba', and on a pointed shape when hearing 'kiki'.
Previously, this psychological effect had only been recorded in humans and chicks. The research results were officially published in the scientific journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B.
