Octobank participated in the international IAMTN 2026 summit, which took place on October 7–8 in London. The bank joined the International Association of Money Transfer Networks (IAMTN) as a Platinum Member and served as a Gold Sponsor of the summit.
Over two days, the Octobank delegation demonstrated its expertise in international payments and discussed promising directions for cross-border money transfers with attending participants. The bank's team managed to establish connections with representatives from 34 different organizations representing 22 countries, including participants from the financial markets of Europe, Asia, and America.
During the event, Octobank held negotiations with current partners such as PayPal, Dubai Islamic Bank, and Worldpay to explore opportunities for deepening cooperation. Furthermore, discussions were held with international payment companies Thunes, UniTeller, and Belmoney, leading to preliminary agreements on further interaction. These established contacts will allow the bank to launch new types of money transfers and expand the range of payment services for its clients.
An Octobank Representative Spoke at the Summit
As part of the summit's business program, Igor Shishkov, Deputy Managing Director for Cross-Border Money Transfers and E-commerce at Octobank, presented a report. He highlighted the methods the bank uses to promote international payments and implement modern technologies, while also emphasizing the potential of Uzbekistan and Central Asia in developing international payment infrastructure.
Summit participants also had the opportunity to learn about the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan. Octobank presented guests with commemorative coins featuring images of the country's famous scientists and thinkers as a symbolic gift, introducing them to the history and culture of Uzbekistan. Thus, participants took away from London not only new business contacts but also an artifact related to the history of Uzbekistan.
Sardor Shavkieev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Octobank, commented on the significance of participating in the summit, noting that the agreements reached during the IAMTN 2026 Annual Summit help strengthen ties between financial institutions both nationally and internationally. He emphasized that such events provide an opportunity to expand partnerships not only in Uzbekistan but also in countries across Asia, Europe, and America, contributing to integration into the global payment network and the development of faster and more convenient solutions for clients.
For Octobank, participation in such authoritative international platforms is critically important for finding new partners, analyzing market trends in cross-border payments, and expanding capabilities in international settlements, which strengthens the bank's position in the global financial market.
Information about IAMTN
IAMTN (The International Association of Money Transfer Networks) is an international association founded in 2005 that brings together participants in the payments and cross-border money transfer markets. The association's goal is to improve access to financial services, enhance payment systems, reduce transfer costs, and strengthen interaction between businesses and regulators.
Previously, major summits of this association have been held in cities such as London (United Kingdom), Dubai (United Arab Emirates), and São Paulo (Brazil).
Platinum Member status provides members of the IAMTN association with extended opportunities to monitor trends in international payments, participate in industry discussions, and exchange experiences with other financial institutions. Gold Sponsor status, in turn, helps raise the profile of the Octobank brand among the international professional community, stimulating the development of new business contacts and expanding international cooperation.
