Uzbekistan has begun implementing a national program aimed at protecting the rights and dignity of employees, as well as preventing cases of harassment, violence, and discrimination in the work environment.
It is planned that a digital resource called 'Safe and Respectful Work Environment' will be launched by December. This portal will allow employees to report violations anonymously.
This information was announced at an event dedicated to the practical launch of this project, which took place in Tashkent. About 70 delegates from state structures and representatives of international organizations attended the meeting.
The Head of the Presidential Administration, Nozimahon Davletova, emphasized that a system is being developed in the country to foster institutional respect for the individual. According to her, this should become a mandatory standard for any organization.
Davletova stated: 'We are creating a mechanism to form institutional respect for every person, regardless of their gender. This must become the norm for every organization. A culture of mutual respect builds a healthy society and strong personnel for our new Uzbekistan.'
As part of this program, 700 facilitators—specialists whose task is to assist people in building effective communication—will be trained in fourteen regions. These specialists will conduct training for 35 thousand employees involved in human resources management and ensuring a safe working environment. Furthermore, a process will be established for reviewing complaints and monitoring the implementation of adopted measures.
It is worth noting that previously, the President of Uzbekistan signed a law concerning the protection of children from all forms of violence. This legislative act prohibits all forms of violence against minors, including psychological pressure and bullying.
