For many students, it is difficult to cover the costs of education and other necessary expenses, so they often find part-time jobs. One such student studying law started working as a courier for Blinkit to earn money alongside his studies.
This student, named Kawal Desai, began working at Blinkit to cover personal expenses. He shared information about his first day of work on the social platform X. On this day, he worked for about six hours and thirty minutes and delivered 19 orders. For delivery, he traveled approximately 51 kilometers on a scooter, not including the return trip.
According to Kawal, he received 508 rupees for the delivery. This amount included a bonus of 75 rupees. Additionally, he received an extra bonus of 100 rupees for meeting a set goal, bringing his total earnings to 608 rupees.
Kawal uses an Ather electric scooter, which he charges at home, so he did not have to spend extra money on charging that day. Although he enjoyed making deliveries, he also needed to dedicate time to his studies. Furthermore, the scooter's battery started to discharge, so he stopped working and returned to his classes.
After publishing Kawal's post on social media, various opinions emerged. Some users believe that jobs like delivery can be a way for students to cover their expenses while studying. Others discuss that although such jobs start as temporary income, people sometimes end up depending on them permanently.
One user shared his experience working as an Uber Bike Rider and a Swiggy delivery partner, but despite this, he could not secure funds to pay for his law school tuition. Overall, Kawal's story demonstrates that some students use part-time jobs to cover personal needs while continuing their education, although his earnings are based only on one day, which does not allow for a conclusion about any courier's daily income.
