boAt, a manufacturer of audio and wearable devices, announced on Thursday its entry into the markets of Sri Lanka and Bhutan. The expansion includes personal audio products, smartwatches, and chargers as part of its international expansion, while the company's international revenue more than doubled in fiscal year 2026.
In an official statement, the company specified that it will gradually expand its product range in each of these markets based on local consumer characteristics, category opportunities, and market response.
These two countries complement boAt's existing international presence in Southeast Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) regions.
boAt CEO Gaurav Nayar emphasized that international expansion for the company does not just mean placing the same goods on more shelves. He stated: 'For us, international expansion is about building market by market, understanding local consumers, and creating significance in every geographical point.'
He added that the company's ambitions are clear: 'Our goal is to transform boAt into a global Indian consumer lifestyle technology brand that competes on product, design, innovation, and consumer understanding.'
In fiscal year 2026, boAt reported that its wearables business became profitable, and new categories, including charging solutions, contributed to forming a 'growing pool of profit outside the core audio portfolio.'
Going forward, boAt plans to deepen its presence in existing international markets while selectively evaluating new geographical directions in South Asia, Southeast Asia, the GCC, and other high-potential markets.
