Four clubs—Real Madrid, PSG, Liverpool, and Villa—scored many goals in Champions League matches

An extraordinary day in the UEFA Champions League brought a record number of goals—46 goals in nine matches. This spectacular football day concluded the matchday with a total of 78 goals scored. Among the most striking events were Real Madrid's incredible comeback with three goals in eight minutes in Rome, Paris Saint-Germain's brilliant performance at the Etihad Stadium, and Liverpool's thrilling match with nine goals in Austria.

Drama in Rome: AS Roma 3–4 Real Madrid

Real Madrid demonstrated one of the most incredible European comebacks in recent times, managing to win 4–3 against AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico, despite trailing by two goals in the second half. Martin De Roon opened the scoring for the Italian team, after which Kylian Mbappé, in his 100th Champions League appearance, equalized for Los Blancos. Roma seemed to be completely controlling the game in the second half thanks to a quick brace from Doniel Malen. When Real Madrid was trailing 3–1 deep into the second half, the team launched a furious final assault.

Carlos Asphy started the comeback in the 83rd minute, sending the ball into the net after Pierluigi Gollini failed to handle a powerful shot from Endrick, and two minutes later, Endrick himself rose higher and scored from an Arda Güler cross, leveling the Spanish giants. In the 90th minute, Antonio Rüdiger completed the miracle comeback, accurately executing a Güler cross to secure a stunning victory.

PSG Champions Blitz City at the Etihad

The defending champions Paris Saint-Germain staged a magnificent attacking masterclass in Manchester, scoring three goals in the first 32 minutes against City. Désiré Doué opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a precise shot, and then assisted Ousmane Dembélé just two minutes later. Vitinha concluded the first-half onslaught with a superb curling shot, taking the score to 3–0 before halftime.

Erling Haaland made a worthy attempt to equalize in the second half, scoring two goals, while Magnus Akliush, the visiting striker, also found the net. Gianluigi Donnarumma sealed the PSG victory by denying former City forward Ferran Torres a penalty late in the game.

Barcola Magic in Linz: Liverpool 3–6 LASK

Liverpool won a tense match with nine goals against Austrian club LASK in Linz. Ronald Araujo set the pace early in the game with a strong header, and Bradley Barcola soon became the focus, whose accurate shot earned him his first hat-trick for Liverpool. Florian Wirtz provided creative impetus with an assist, and Jeremie Frimpong and young talent Lewis Cook also added their names to the scorers list.

LASK managed to respond in the second half through the substitution of Robert Ljubicic and a quick brace from Florian Flecker, but Liverpool's attacking power proved too much.

Record-Breaking Night in Birmingham: Aston Villa 6–0 Fenerbahçe

Under Unai Emery, Aston Villa recorded the biggest European success in the club's history, defeating Fenerbahçe 6–0 at Villa Park. Johan Mamsamby marked his 21st birthday by scoring the debut goal, capitalizing on a poor clearance by the opponent, and Nicolas Jackson punished Fenerbahçe twice for errors before halftime, establishing a comfortable 3–0 lead.

Ross Barkley added two goals in the second half, including a calmly converted penalty, and in stoppage time, substitutes Alisson and Tammy Abraham completed the six-goal dominance.
