Brent crude oil, used as a reference in Europe, showed an increase of 0.68%, reaching US$ 106.41 per barrel in the London futures market. During the trading period, the price fluctuated between a peak of US$ 107.15 in the early morning and a low of US$ 105.21 shortly before noon.
In parallel, West Texas Intermediate (WTI), the benchmark in the United States, registered an increase of 1.34%, reaching US$ 95.4.
The recovery in Brent's price occurs after the previous close, when there was a drop of 0.9% to US$ 105.69. This improvement happens despite the intensification of attacks in Saudi Arabia and the persistent uncertainty about the energy truce between Russia and Ukraine.
In the Middle East, the market is closely monitoring the confrontations between Saudi Arabia and the Houthi rebels of Yemen. Saudi press reported that a source from the Ministry of Energy informed that on Tuesday afternoon, an Aramco oil company building located in Dhahran was hit by an attack that resulted in a fire, but with no reported injuries or deaths.
This incident follows the Houthis threatening to launch a large-scale offensive against the company's headquarters, as well as against a refinery in Riyadh. These threats were a reaction to bombings carried out in Sanaa by the military coalition led by Saudi Arabia, which has been involved in Yemen since 2015.
This military alliance, which supports the internationally recognized Yemeni Government, bombed the main fuel reservoir of the Yemeni capital on Tuesday, which had been under the control of the Houthi rebels since 2014.
Additionally, the military coalition commanded by Saudi Arabia communicated through several posts on the social network X that it intercepted and destroyed cruise missiles and drones in the areas of Riyadh and southern parts of the country.
