78 new EV charging stations planned in Noida as part of a goal of 100 stations

Steps are being taken to expand the network of charging stations to improve the availability of charging infrastructure for electric vehicle owners in Noida. The Noida Authority has signed an agreement with ITI Limited to install charging stations at 48 different locations. Previously, an agreement was reached with UPREV to install stations in 30 locations.

As a result of these two agreements, a total of 78 charging stations are planned for the city. Furthermore, the Noida Authority has set a goal to establish a total of 100 stations in the city.

The expansion of the charging station network in Noida is carried out in accordance with the Uttar Pradesh Electric Vehicles Policy 2022, which aims to encourage the use of electric vehicles and control environmental pollution. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Noida Authority and ITI Limited was signed on October 12, 2026.

According to this agreement, 48 charging stations will be installed in various parts of the city. Prior to this, on September 24, 2026, the Noida Authority concluded a contract with UPREV to install 30 such stations. Thus, after implementing both agreements, the plan provides for the placement of 78 stations.

The Noida Authority reported that the cooperation with ITI Limited will be valid for ten years, with the possibility of extension in the future. All costs associated with the installation of charging stations will be covered by ITI Limited, while the Noida Authority will provide the necessary sites. The authority itself will not provide financial support for this project.

According to the administration, each station will have at least two charging units, allowing two passenger cars and one motorcycle to charge simultaneously. Under the revenue sharing model, the Noida Authority will receive income of 1 rupee for every kilowatt-hour (kWh) of electricity consumed.

The Noida Authority has published a list of 48 locations for installing charging stations. These locations include metro stations, shopping malls, markets, hospitals, parking zones, petrol stations, and office complexes. Key locations mentioned are:

  • Metro Stations and Parking: Metro stations in Sector-16 and Sector-18, as well as parking lots in Sectors-142, Sector-147, Sector-137, Sector-143B, and Sector-83.
