Iran's Head Coach Ghalenoei Aims to Improve National Team's Performance at the 2027 Asian Cup

Iran's head coach Amir Ghalenoei expressed confidence that the 'Team Melli' national team will demonstrate stronger results at the 2027 Asian Cup. He emphasized that the national team is determined to improve its performance compared to the previous tournament held in Qatar.

Iran has been placed in Group C alongside China, Syria, and Kyrgyzstan for the continental tournament, where the team aims to compete for the title and delight millions of fans.

In the last Asian Cup held in Qatar, Iran reached the semi-finals but lost to the host team, which deprived them of a chance to reach the final. Ghalenoei believes that the experience gained during that campaign will help the players approach the next tournament with greater determination and higher quality of play.

Ghalenoei stated: 'The national team will prepare for the Asian Cup with added determination, and our performance in the tournament will be better than in the previous Asian Cup and World Cup.' He added that the squad fully understands the responsibility associated with representing Iran on one of Asia's largest football stages and is ready to start the competition.

The coach noted that participating in any competition, especially an international tournament involving the national team, means achieving success and bringing happiness to the people. He continued: 'The same applies to this tournament. Everyone in the team is determined to perform better than last time.'

The Iranian coach also highlighted the special bond between the national team and its fans, calling 'Team Melli' a team belonging to the entire nation. He said: 'The national team is home to 90 million Iranians, and the prayers and support of the people will be with us.'

Ghalenoei expressed conviction that Iran will show significant improvement at the 2027 Asian Cup compared to previous competitions. Despite high expectations and fresh memories of the semi-final defeat, Iran intends to turn this disappointment into motivation, striving for a stronger campaign and re-entry among Asia's elite.
