Volvo Buses India announced that it has secured its largest deal in history, receiving an order from the Maharashtra State Transport Corporation (MSRTC) for the supply of 200 buses, including 30 sleeper buses.
This contract is the largest for Volvo Buses in India and indicates serious intentions to strengthen premium intercity public transport in the state.
Suresh Chettiar, Executive Vice President of the Bus Division of VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd., noted that 'this landmark order reflects our shared commitment to improving travel quality and making the premium passenger experience more accessible to the citizens of Maharashtra.'
According to company information, the order includes 170 seated buses and 30 sleeper buses. The Volvo 9600 model bus, manufactured at the company's facilities in Hoskote, is available in both seated and sleeper configurations.
