More than half of Amaha clients live with mental health issues for over a year; 56% report self-harm thoughts

Mental health problems can persist for months, and sometimes years, before people seek professional help. By the time they seek help, these experiences can negatively affect relationships, work, and the ability to cope with daily life.

According to the Amaha Mental Health Report 2026, more than half of the individuals who eventually sought help had lived with their problems for over a year. Furthermore, 56.2% of them reported having thoughts of self-harm before receiving professional support.
