Uzbekistan plans to use the Meet Global MICE Congress 2026 in Moscow to expand business ties

Moscow is preparing to host the Meet Global MICE Congress 2026, which aims to surpass last year's figures. In 2025, the event attracted over 2500 specialists from 37 countries worldwide. The congress will take place at the CMT congress center on December 16–17, 2026, and will be the fourth event to bring together key players in the global MICE industry.

Organizers of business meetings, MICE service providers, corporate clients, representatives of state tourism agencies, industry associations, as well as leading experts from BRICS and the Global South will gather at the venue.

For delegates from Uzbekistan, MGMC 2026 serves as an effective channel for finding new partners in growing international markets, strengthening existing businesses, and demonstrating the country's potential in the MICE sector. In 2025, among more than 130 exhibitors representing major MICE destinations, Uzbek companies such as Sanat Travel Experts DMC, Inter MICE Asia, and Silk Road Samarkand participated. They showcased the capabilities of the local MICE infrastructure, its logistical accessibility, and high standard of service.

In the upcoming year, a large exhibition dedicated to presenting the opportunities of Uzbek MICE operators, hotel chains, specialized associations, transport companies, and all interested professional audiences will once again be organized within the congress grounds.

Special attention in the congress schedule is given to the Hosted Buyers program. This program is expected to involve over 200 professional buyers from CIS countries, China, India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and Africa. Participation in Hosted Buyers will give participants from Uzbekistan a chance to connect with leading MICE suppliers and assess Moscow as one of the world's MICE destinations.

Since about 70% of congress participants are senior executives and decision-makers, this negotiation format has high potential for quick deal closures and contract signings. Last year, over 8000 B2B meetings took place at the MGMC venue.

MGMC 2026 will offer a practice-oriented business program focused on real business examples and interactive formats. A central focus will be on providing MICE industry participants with a practical set of tools—from strategy development to implementing solutions that transform ideas into tangible financial results. Delegates will be able to discuss entering new markets, attracting investment, entrepreneurial support measures, and digital modernization, including the use of artificial intelligence.

Separate sessions will be held focusing on building strong destination brands considering the cultural code of the regions, as well as the specifics of doing business in BRICS and Global South markets. The economic block will examine issues of profitability management, preventing cash flow gaps, and seeking alternative sources of income. Special emphasis will be placed on changing business models—transitioning from selling working hours to providing measurable value to the client. Market leaders will share their experience in successful scaling and maintaining high growth rates.

Every year, MGMC enhances its status as a professional platform for exchanging opinions on trends and establishing partnerships, setting a new standard for international MICE events.

Anastasia Popova, First Deputy General Director for Business Tourism Development of ANO 'Project Office for Tourism and Hospitality Development of Moscow' (Mostourism), notes: 'For specialists from Uzbekistan, MGMC is an opportunity to expand the geography of business ties, present their competencies, see how the global MICE industry is developing, and get acquainted with Moscow as a modern MICE destination. For us, the participation of colleagues from Uzbekistan is an opportunity not only to share Moscow's experience but also to adopt best practices, jointly seek new points of interaction, and develop professional dialogue.'
