Kalpataru Projects secures new orders worth 222.5 billion rupees in power transmission and distribution sector

Kalpataru Projects International (KPIL) announced on Tuesday the receipt of new contracts and letters of guarantee totaling approximately 203.1 billion rupees in its power transmission and distribution (T&D) business in both Indian and international markets. Additionally, its Swedish subsidiary secured an order worth about 19.4 billion rupees.

The cumulative value of all recent orders reached 222.5 billion rupees. The company reported that for the current fiscal year, it has already secured orders worth approximately 20 billion rupees, demonstrating a growth of over 30 percent compared to the previous year.

Manish Mohnot, Managing Director and CEO of KPIL, expressed satisfaction with the new wins in the T&D business, noting that this reflects a high level of execution, technical competence, and growing client trust in the company.

Mohnot also emphasized that increased investment in transmission infrastructure, network expansion, and integration of renewable energy on the global market supports the inflow of orders.

Notably, the Swedish subsidiary Linjemontage i Grästorp AB won a contract worth 200 million Swedish kronor from Ellevio AB. This order was obtained through a public tender for the modernization and expansion of an existing 130 kilovolt (kV) substation in Robbacken, Borlänge. The project is scheduled for three years.

The objective of the project is to increase redundancy and capacity in the electrical grid. It includes the construction of a new 130 kV substation within the expanded area, as well as connecting it to the existing facility which will operate during construction work. Later, Ellevio plans to connect four new overhead lines to the new substation, as well as a new 400 kV bay connecting it to the Svenska kraftnät transmission network.

The project will be implemented under a full-cycle contract, including foundation and civil works, control building, control equipment, assembly and installation, as well as testing and commissioning. Work is expected to commence immediately after signing the agreement and continue until the final inspection scheduled for October 15, 2029.
