Apple has released an exclusive version of the AirPods 5 specifically for the Indian market, targeting the festive season. The main feature of this model is not the earbuds themselves, but their wireless charging case, which is adorned with a unique design mimicking Rangoli.
This move by the company coincides with consumers preparing to purchase new gadgets for Diwali and other celebrations. The special edition AirPods 5 are priced at 17,900 rupees and will be available in limited quantities. Customers can purchase them through the Apple online store, the Apple Store app, and six official Apple stores across the country.
What's new in AirPods 5?
This special series includes all the features of the AirPods 5, including the wireless charging case. The earbuds are equipped with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which helps reduce ambient noise. Furthermore, they support live translation, allowing users to understand conversations in certain supported languages, provided compatible Apple devices and software are used.
According to Apple statements, with ANC enabled, the total battery life with the wireless charging case can reach up to 22 hours. The case can also be charged using a Qi wireless charger and an Apple Watch charger.
Where can these special AirPods be purchased?
The Special Edition AirPods 5 are available at the Apple online store, the Apple Store app, and six retail Apple stores in India. These stores include Apple BKC and Apple Borivali in Mumbai, Apple Saket and Apple Noida in Delhi-NCR, as well as Apple Hebbal in Bangalore and Apple Koregaon Park in Pune. Since the release is limited, it is recommended to check product availability on the Apple website before purchasing. In addition to the price of 17,900 rupees, offers such as instant cashback and EMI are available.
As part of the festive sale, Apple has also launched special promotions in India running from October 11 to November 11, 2026. During this period, select models of iPhone, Mac, and iPad are eligible for a 12-month interest-free installment plan. When purchasing with the corresponding card, instant cashback of up to 15,000 rupees is also offered on certain items. For Apple Watch, AirPods, and some accessories, there is an option for a six-month interest-free installment plan, although not all offers apply to all products.
Additionally, Apple organized a special 'Today at Apple' session so that users can experience Rangoli art in a digital format during the holidays. This session will run from October 14 to November 9, 2026, where people can create their own Rangoli designs using an iPad and Apple Pencil, experimenting with colors, drawings, and traditional patterns.
