Uzbek grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattorov expressed his opinion that Javohir Sindarov's talent is comparable to Garry Kasparov, the 13th World Chess Champion, who is considered one of the most outstanding players in history.
Abdusattorov also shared that his compatriot's success served as a powerful stimulus for him and restored his belief in his own abilities. The grandmaster stated: 'I believe he is among the top five most talented chess players in history. In terms of his gift, he is in no way inferior to Kasparov and other great chess players.'
According to Abdusattorov, Sindarov previously did not pay due attention to chess, which caused his abilities to go unnoticed. However, after he started concentrating on the game, his potential was fully realized.
Abdusattorov noted that the young player's achievements became an additional motivating factor for him. In 2022, Sindarov first exceeded the 2700 rating threshold and remained among the world's leading chess players until 2025, although he has yet to qualify for the Candidates Tournament. Initially, he was hindered by a lack of age and experience, and later by difficulties related to further professional development.
The grandmaster admitted that despite having been ahead of Sindarov for a long time, the situation has now changed: his compatriot has taken the lead and achieved an important goal for himself. 'His victories gave me a second wind. Javohir showed that it is possible to achieve this, paved the way, and strengthened my self-confidence. Now he is ahead, and I am following him,' shared Abdusattorov.
The chess player emphasized that Sindarov's success is perceived by him not as a reason for competition off the chessboard, but as a source of inspiration and confirmation that high achievements are entirely attainable. It was previously reported that Sindarov placed second in the Live Rapid world ranking, scoring 2742.6 points.
