JAKA Robotics Unveils Heavy Humanoid Robot Kargo50 and Collaborative Robot Zu50 at Shanghai Exhibition

JAKA Robotics utilized the 26th China International Industry Fair in Shanghai, which opened on October 12, to present two new machines: the wheeled humanoid robot JAKA Kargo50 and the high payload collaborative robot JAKA Zu50. According to Shanghai Securities News, the company introduced both devices as global novelties.

The Kargo50 model expands the Kargo line of wheeled humanoids, directing it towards heavier industrial tasks, specifically moving containers and other raw materials between workstations on a production line. At the time of launch, JAKA had not yet published payload specifications for the new model, and the Kargo50 is absent from the company's English product catalogs.

The development of Kargo50 builds upon the successful experience of the smaller Kargo10 model. JAKA reports that Kargo10 is already in large-scale commercial use in auto parts and high-tech electronics manufacturing plants. After engineers fine-tuned the robot directly on client lines, the cycle time per container was reduced from 105 seconds to 28 seconds, and implementation in the new scenario now takes 57 days.

Zu50 completes JAKA's range of collaborative manipulators, which previously covered light and medium loads. According to the product list on JAKA's website, this manipulator can lift up to 50 kg, has a reach of 2100 mm, and provides up to 50% higher rotational speed across axes thanks to new integrated drive joint modules and a high power density control system.

Instead of demonstrating isolated movements, JAKA recreated an entire production cell at its booth. The day before the fair, Jiemian News observed two wheeled humanoids working in tandem: one delivered an engine to a designated position, while the other tightened screws, after which both returned to their starting points. JAKA Marketing Director Wang Lei noted that this setup represents an agent-controlled collaborative system for new energy engines, designed to demonstrate long-term production tasks where personnel define the task goal, and the system independently plans and verifies the steps.

This workflow operates on JAKA EVO—an embodied intelligence operating system released by JAKA in 2025. This system divides control into a cloud model responsible for perception, task planning, skill selection, and exception decision-making; an edge model with a rules mechanism that plans motion and force control; and a motion controller reacting at a frequency of 1 kHz.

Founded in 2014, JAKA currently maintains two product lines: collaborative robots and embodied intelligence. Vice President Zhang Li stated that general-purpose robots are a direction for industry development.
