Sesc hotels, located throughout Brazil, are known for offering quality accommodation at significantly more affordable prices compared to similar establishments in the same cities. Furthermore, one does not need to be an Sesc member to stay. However, holders of an Sesc card (formally called a 'credential') receive much more favorable rates for accommodation.
Sesc operates with three types of membership:
Full Membership Card
This type is intended for Sesc members themselves and grants the right to the lowest rates, as well as priority over other groups. Members of this category can include employees of trade, services, and tourism, and their relatives.
User Agreement Card
The 'user' category, also known as the 'agreement credential,' includes individuals (and their families) who have ties to Sesc's partner institutions, such as Senac. The benefits for the general public may vary depending on the region.
Public Event Card
The general public falls into the 'event credential' category. Anyone can obtain such a card, which does not require a connection to work in trade or an agreement with Sesc companies, unions, or partners.
Accommodation rates in Sesc hotels vary depending on the specific property and the state in which it is located. The same applies to the differences in cost paid depending on the category of each card.
Sesc members with a 'full membership credential' always receive the largest discount. In some cases, the cost paid by the general public can reach double the price applied to holders of this type of card.
When using the 'user agreement credential' and the 'public event credential,' the situation depends on the specific rules of each state. In some places, prices are similar to those set for members with a 'full membership credential.' In other situations, these individuals may gain access to accommodation within an intermediate price range.
