When people think of America, England, or Australia, images of luxurious buildings, elite apartments, and large hotels often come to mind. However, renowned architect Sanjay Puri mentioned in his podcast two of the most beautiful and unusual buildings in the world.
The first building that comes to Sanjay Puri's mind is the Museum in Bilbao, located in Spain. This museum was designed by Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry. Previously, Bilbao was an exclusively industrial city made up of factories. The local mayor envisioned the development of this area and decided to build this specific museum.
The creation of the museum took about ten to twelve years. The mayor and the architect decided to use titanium because it changes color under the influence of sunlight. As a result, throughout the day, the building displays many shades: sometimes it looks orange, blue, or green, and at other times—silvery or metallic. It is worth noting that this single structure completely transformed the economy of the entire city, attracting visitors from all over the world. After its construction, an airport and numerous hotels appeared, providing jobs for local residents and turning the place into a tourist attraction.
Sanjay Puri also named the Heydar Aliyev Center in Azerbaijan as the second most magnificent building. It was designed by Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid. This luxurious white structure is distinguished by the fact that it lacks a single corner. According to Puri, when constructing any space, many corners are inevitably formed, but the absence of corners in the Heydar Aliyev Center emphasizes its perfect design. The entire structure of the building is executed in a curved form, resembling a cave.
To add beauty to this building, wallpaper, decorative elements, bright lighting, or flooring were not used; only white color was applied, which gives it an exceptional and unique appearance.
