Bowler Bangladesh achieves historic feat by taking hat-trick against Afghanistan

The fast bowler from Bangladesh, Hasan Mahmud, has entered the history of Test cricket. During the third day (October 11) of the match held in Abu Dhabi against Afghanistan, the 26-year-old bowler took a hat-trick.

Thanks to this achievement, Hasan became the first fast bowler from Bangladesh to take a hat-trick in a Test match. He achieved this in the 83rd over of Afghanistan's first innings. On the third ball of the over, he dismissed Ismat Alam.

Subsequently, Hasan dismissed the next batsman, Kassah Ahmed, who was caught by Liton Das. To complete the hat-trick, he needed one more wicket. On the fifth ball of the over, he bowled to Ziaur Rehman, requesting an LBW decision. However, the field umpire rejected the appeal. Bangladesh decided to use the DRS. After reviewing with Hawk-Eye technology, it was seen that the ball hit the stumps, and the umpire had to change his initial decision.

Thus, Hasan Mahmud completed his first hat-trick in Test cricket, taking three consecutive wickets. This victory added a new chapter to Bangladeshi cricket.

Hasan Mahmud is the third bowler from Bangladesh to have taken a hat-trick in Test matches. Before him, Alok Kapali took a hat-trick against Pakistan in Peshawar in 2003, and Sohag Gazi did so in the match in Chattogram against New Zealand in 2013. Both previous bowlers were spinners.

In Afghanistan's first innings, Hasan Mahmud took five wickets, conceding 55 runs. Thanks to his performance, the Afghanistan team was reduced to 240 runs. Bangladesh scored 346 runs in its first innings, giving Bangladesh a lead of 106 runs in the first innings, thereby strengthening their position in the match.
