Infosys, India's second-largest IT company, reported on Saturday that it does not expect a significant impact from the suspension of Permanent Employment Certification (PERM) applications announced by the US government.
Earlier, on Thursday, the US government announced a temporary halt to the participation of some major global technology and IT firms, including Infosys, in the PERM green card program. This program allows qualified foreign workers to obtain permanent residency in the United States through employment.
In an official statement, Infosys said: 'We welcome the opportunity to cooperate with the Department of Labor and related government agencies to answer any of their questions.'
